Kickstarter-exclusive mini-expansion. The Settlements mini-expansion adds 16 tiles, 4 per terrain type, to your regular deck of terrain tiles in any game. They function like regular tiles, except that when you place them on the map, you also add a token of the indicated resource. When you move over these tiles, you collect that token. Unlike regular tiles, Settlements do not have a Harvesting icon, meaning you cannot combine a Harvesting token with that icon to gain XP like regular tiles can. Therefore, Settlement tiles add another variable when considering which tiles to bid on and which map to choose. They are, of course, optional.
