Rune Stones Big Box Edition
Rune Stones is a deck-building and hand-management game by acclaimed designer Rüdiger Dorn. In this strategic and immersive game, every card has a unique number. Players must carefully plan which cards to buy and how to play them, as the higher-numbered card in every action is permanently removed from their deck. The balance between short-term gains and long-term strategy is critical!
Gameplay Overview
Players use their cards to gather gems, forge them into Artifacts, and then combine these into Rune Stones, which grant unique abilities for the rest of the game. The more artifacts used when creating a Rune Stone, the higher the points earned. However, players must decide whether to gain abilities early or save resources to maximize points.
On your turn, you may choose one of three actions:
- Summon Creatures: Take new creature cards from the display by playing the required amount of spell power from cards in your hand.
- Play Cards: Play two cards from your hand to gain resources, new cards, or points. However, the higher-numbered card of the two is permanently removed from the game, while the other goes to your discard pile.
- Forge Artifacts: Spend gems at one of the 6 Dwarf forges to create artifacts. Once you have at least two artifacts of different colors, combine them to create Rune Stones. Rune Stones grant powerful abilities and significant points.
Endgame and Victory
The game ends when a player reaches 65 or more points, triggering the final round. The player with the most points at the end of the round emerges victorious!
