When renowned botanist Dr Rosa Marquez receives a strange sample from the mysterious and isolated Hemlock Island, her instincts tell her that something is amiss. On the recommendation of a former colleague, she invites the investigators to join her in exploring the island. Nothing prepares them for what they discover: deadly mutant fauna and a strange, malignant presence permeate the island, while the inhabitants prepare for a festival, seemingly oblivious to the danger.
